【新唐人2018年12月12日訊】川普總統週二（12月11日）警告，如果民主黨不投票支持建設邊境牆，他將利用軍費築牆以保證國家安全。
週二早上，川普就大篷車移民及邊境牆建設問題連發多篇推文，敦促眾議院少數黨領袖佩洛西（Nancy Pelosi）和參議院少數黨領袖舒默（Chuck Schumer）正視國家安全問題，同意撥款資助他的築牆計劃。
川普首先指出，儘管數千大篷車移民聚集美墨邊境，但畢竟沒能衝破邊界大規模入境美國，目前他們或滯留墨西哥、或返回母國。美國邊境執法人員和軍隊所做出的努力非常了不起。但是，如果有了邊境牆，阻擋非法移民就會更容易，花費的資源也會更少。
川普表示，雖然政府已經新建並翻修了一部分邊境牆，但資金還差很多。原因在於，民主黨出於政治原因已經嚴重左傾，甚至不要邊境安全。他們想打開邊界放任何人進來，從而帶來大量犯罪和疾病。
川普寫道，他盼望與佩洛西和舒默會晤。民主黨2006年曾投票支持建邊境牆，他們做的很對。但今天，他們不再想要邊境安全，而且不惜一切代價地反對。但是，牆必須建。人們還沒意識到已經築起或翻修了多少牆。如果民主黨不投票保證國家安全，那麼他將出動軍隊建設剩餘的邊境牆。民主黨知道這有多麼重要。

….however, for strictly political reasons and because they have been pulled so far left, do NOT want Border Security. They want Open Borders for anyone to come in. This brings large scale crime and disease. Our Southern Border is now Secure and will remain that way…….

….People do not yet realize how much of the Wall, including really effective renovation, has already been built. If the Democrats do not give us the votes to secure our Country, the Military will build the remaining sections of the Wall. They know how important it is!

川普定於週二會晤佩洛西和舒默，並重點商議邊境牆問題。川普此前已發出警告，如果民主黨不對築牆提供資金支持，他可能拒簽下一財年的政府預算法案並讓政府關門。
另一方面，佩洛西和舒默週一也發表了聯合聲明，聲稱川普很清楚國會不會批准他所要的築牆資金，並把政府關門的責任推給川普，要川普不要讓築牆提議成為「兩黨達成協議的障礙」。
川普需要的築牆資金是50億美元，而民主黨目前只肯提供13億，遠遠無法滿足川普的築牆要求。
